FIB-4 Calculator

FIB4 calculator eForm shared by Stanley Hurwitz

Liver fibrosis often progresses non-linearly, so it is important to be able to re-assess fibrosis trends in individual patients over time, and invasive re-assessments carry significant risk to patients. FIB-4 allows for non-invasive liver fibrosis assessment.

The calculator helps identify which patients with fatty liver require further evaluation and elastography
Measurements for Age. AST, AST are standard in Oscar.
This form requires mapping of 777-3 platelet to PLT for auto-population.
Alternatively, platelet value can be recorded manually.

Update: Ian Pun's RBT added - calculate FIB-4 scores on all your active patients to see if there is fibrosis in NASH patients -

Interpretation:

Low FIB-4: <1.45 (suggests low likelihood of advanced fibrosis) High FIB-4: >3.25 (suggests high likelihood of advanced fibrosis)
Intermediate FIB-4: Values between 1.45 and 3.25 (inconclusive)
